About the role#
The Advanced Imager Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory is looking for summer interns to join the 2027 Summer Research Program. You will work on research and development for imager devices and subsystem-level technology used in surveillance, adaptive optics, and astronomy. This is a full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Support microelectronics development and testing.
- Assist with semiconductor device fabrication and characterization.
- Perform hands-on lab work.
- Write code and scripts for image processing.
- Manage data acquisition, analysis, and presentation.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field.
- You have completed at least one year of academic credits.
- Proficiency in Matlab, C, embedded computation, or Python.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
- You must be a US citizen.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.

- Location: Lexington, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027 (typically 10 to 12 weeks).
- This position is paid, with hourly rates determined by your completed academic year or degree level.
