About the role#
The Mechanical Engineer Intern supports the development of new and sustaining products by assisting in design, prototyping, testing, and documentation. You will work closely with senior-level engineers to learn about product functionality and grow through hands-on experience and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems for current and pre-production projects.
- Create and modify 3D models and schematic engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations using FEA tools to support design validation.
- Participate in building and testing mechanical prototypes.
- Conduct mechanical, environmental, and vibration performance tests under guidance from senior staff.
- Support root cause analysis and RMA processing.
- Document findings and analysis.
- Apply basic programming and tool usage to support model creation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 1 year of collegiate education in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in CAD and engineering software for modeling and simulation.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner with technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to use data to solve problems and drive informed actions.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

- Location: Franklin, Wisconsin
- Term: Summer 2027
- Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift (8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday)
- Compensation: $22 - $30 per hour
- Work Modality: On-site
