About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering Co-op to join our team in Jefferson City, Missouri. This is a two-semester assignment running from January 2027 through August 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by working with our engineering and operations teams to optimize manufacturing processes and support production needs.
What you'll do#
- Support new product launches by assisting with machine, process, and material setups.
- Help the production team with assembly, brazing, and wiring tasks.
- Collaborate with the lean operations and engineering teams to lead process improvement projects.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct material analysis and physical validation of stock.
- Ensure production readiness to support manufacturing ramps.
- Provide engineering support and train operators on new processes.
- Design and layout production lines, workstations, and material handling systems.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis to address quality issues or inefficiencies.
- Support the implementation of new equipment, technology, and automation.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Proficiency in CAD software and statistical analysis tools, including advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A solid understanding of process improvement concepts like process mapping and value stream analysis.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
