About the role#
This Actuarial Internship offers exposure to disciplines including Pricing, Corporate, or Business Intelligence and Analytics. Reporting to an Actuarial Manager, you will work with Actuarial Associates and senior management to support core insurance functions. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Run applications for data extraction and analyze the results.
- Contribute to monthly reserve reviews and analyze claims diagnostics.
- Assist in month-end financial reporting.
- Build and maintain models for profitability, growth, and segmentation to predict customer cost and behavior.
- Update, improve, and maintain data relied upon by the Actuarial Department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program focused on Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in both English and French, as the role requires regular communication with teams across the country.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering quality work.
- A curious and analytical mindset.
- Familiarity with Excel, VBA, Python, SAS, SQL, or other programming languages is considered an asset.
