About the role#
BWXT is hiring an Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Lynchburg, Virginia. Interns will work for 10 to 12 weeks and present their completed projects to the leadership team at the end of the program. A housing stipend is available for interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from the work site.
What you'll do#
- Develop and deliver engineering solutions for nuclear environments.
- Create and update technical drawings and procedures.
- Participate in design testing, analysis, project management, and material procurement.
- Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance, which includes a background investigation and drug test.
