About the role#
As a Project Engineer intern, you will support the Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Superintendent with daily construction project management. You will work on-site in Kansas City as part of the Brinkmann BUILD program. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project team with day-to-day management tasks.
- Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures on the jobsite.
- Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, clients, and the internal project team.
- Participate in BUILD program events, including training sessions, jobsite visits, and mock bid exercises.
- Complete assigned tasks independently while seeking guidance when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, or construction management.
- You have a general understanding of construction principles and practices.
- You can read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Kansas City, Kansas.
- Work environment: Primarily based in a field or main office, with occasional time spent outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical requirements: Ability to handle objects up to 25 pounds, along with regular standing, walking, and sitting.
