About the role#
ECC is hiring a Construction Management or Civil Engineering intern for a project in Rio Grande City, Texas. This is an on-site role starting in Summer 2027. You will work directly with our construction team on a Border Patrol Station project. This internship provides hands-on experience in field operations, quality management, and project administration. You will receive mentorship from experienced professionals while learning about large-scale military construction. The pay rate is $25.00 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Support the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Quality Control staff with daily construction tasks.
- Assist with field inspections and project documentation.
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Help with project tracking, reporting, and schedule updates.
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and site logistics.
- Maintain project records and electronic filing systems.
- Monitor adherence to project safety and quality requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree program.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a field environment.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain a military base pass.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Interest in international construction and a long-term career in domestic and international projects.
