    About the role#

    ECC is hiring an intern for a major military construction project in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area. This is a full-time, on-site role for Summer 2027. You will work directly with project leadership on the construction of a new parking garage and NATO Command Building. This position requires daily attendance at the project site, and you may be required to operate a vehicle on-site.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Quality Control staff with daily construction operations.
    • Assist with project documentation, reporting, and field inspections.
    • Attend project coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
    • Track project progress and support schedule updates.
    • Assist with subcontractor coordination and field communication.
    • Support the preparation and organization of project records, logs, and closeout documentation.
    • Observe and promote project safety and quality standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • Junior or senior undergraduate student status.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work in a field environment.
    • Eligibility to obtain military base access.

    • Locations: Virginia Beach, VA and Norfolk, VA.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Compensation: $24.00 per hour.
    • Work Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
