About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at the Cherry Point refinery, you will join a multidiscipline team of operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety engineering personnel. This 12-week summer program is designed to build your technical knowledge and professional skills. You will receive support from a dedicated line manager and a buddy throughout the term. Successful interns may be considered for the One Engineering Program upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Craft piping system layouts and analyze the flexibility of pumping and fluid flow systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform root cause failure analysis.
- Apply design codes, including ASME, API, ANSI, and ASTM, to support technical and business decisions.
- Provide technical support for operating units.
- Design and lead various engineering projects to improve process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without restrictions. Please note that sponsorship is not provided for this role.
Location & details#
- Location: Blaine, Washington.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position. No remote or hybrid options are available.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a monthly salary range of $7,438 to $7,875, depending on degree major, level, and graduation year.
