About the role#
As an R&D Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work within the Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies division. You will assist in the design and development of electromechanical products used for intravascular imaging, ultrasound ablation therapy, and the treatment of coronary arterial disease. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the development and testing of electronic systems.
- Design, prototype, assemble, and test electronic components and subsystems.
- Write and execute test protocols and reports.
- Communicate test and analysis results to various audiences.
- Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to R&D tasks.
- Ensure engineering solutions align with clinical needs, regulatory standards, and patient safety requirements.
- Maintain compliance with quality processes and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Status as a rising junior or rising senior.
- Understanding of electrical circuit design and testing.
- Ability to commit to program dates of May 17th to August 6th or May 24th to August 13th, 2027.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to the Arbor Lakes location in Maple Grove, MN.
- Experience with Altium Designer, circuit simulation tools like PSpice, and electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters is preferred.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis methods.
- Previous hands-on engineering internship or co-op experience.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
