About the role#
Alcon is hiring Electrical and Computer Engineering Interns for the 2027 summer program. This position offers the chance to work on real projects while building technical skills and networking with professionals. You will receive coaching and development throughout your time with the team.
What you'll do#
- Design or enhance custom laboratory and research equipment using CAD, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and controls.
- Develop embedded software and firmware for 32-bit microcontrollers using C/C++, real-time operating systems, and embedded Linux.
- Debug electronic and embedded systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Support manufacturing automation projects involving cobots, programming, and machine-vision systems.
- Create robotics applications for patient positioning, including simulation-to-real training and deployment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university for at least one semester before and after the internship.
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering, embedded, firmware, robotics, or a related major.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
- Ability to commit to a 10 to 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) summer internship.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
