About the role#
Alcon is hiring Software, Data, and AI Engineering interns for our 2027 summer program. This is a full-time, 10 to 12-week opportunity where you will contribute to real-world projects and work alongside our professional teams. You will gain hands-on experience while building your technical skills and professional network.
What you'll do#
- Build scalable AI/ML and data-pipeline solutions using MLOps, automation, and cloud-native technologies.
- Use Python and SQL to clean, explore, and validate data to create analytical datasets.
- Develop C# or C++ software and tools for surgical-console products and visualization architectures.
- Create an AI-ready framework to connect laboratory systems, electronic lab notebooks, and study data.
- Support cybersecurity operations by monitoring alerts, analyzing events, and assisting with incident response.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university for at least one semester before and after the internship.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software, Data/Analytics, AI/ML, IT, Information Systems, or HCI/UX.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
- Ability to commit to a 40-hour work week for the duration of the 10 to 12-week summer term.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
