About the role#
BlueWave is hiring a Co-op for the Grid Integration team for the Winter 2027 term. You will assist with interconnection activities for solar and storage projects across multiple states. The role focuses on managing utility interconnection applications, estimating upgrade costs, and working closely with our Project Development and Site Acquisition teams. You will also conduct strategic research on technical and policy topics.
What you'll do#
- Create, track, and manage interconnection applications for various projects.
- Participate in negotiations with utilities regarding scope, timeline, and costs.
- Manage utility customer portal systems on a daily basis.
- Keep project information updated in Salesforce trackers.
- Review and draft site plans for solar and storage systems.
- Coordinate with electrical consultants and in-house engineers on system design.
- Research utility infrastructure to inform project decisions.
- Assist the Development Services and Project Development teams with interconnection strategy.
- Coordinate internal payment processes.
- Maintain regular communication with utility personnel to support project progress.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Environmental Studies, or a similar field.
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft product suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, particularly in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Knowledge of utility infrastructure, solar and storage single line diagrams, or state policy and tariff implications is beneficial.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position based in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days of work in the office per week.
