About the role#
Bennett & Pless is hiring engineering students for our summer internship program in Charlotte. You will work on structural systems for projects including data centers, retail, manufacturing, and historical renovations. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Design specific elements within overall structural systems.
- Coordinate with structural engineers and designers to meet quality standards.
- Create construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Prepare calculations and RFI responses under the direction of a project structural engineer.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist with site reviews.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. A Master degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with Revit is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry software like RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, and Microsoft products.
- Ability to learn and apply project-specific building codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
