About the role#
Bennett & Pless is hiring engineering students for our Summer 2027 internship program in Addison, Texas. This is a full-time, paid position where you will work on structural systems for projects like data centers, retail spaces, manufacturing facilities, and historical renovations.
What you'll do#
- Design specific elements within overall structural systems.
- Coordinate with structural engineers and Revit/CAD designers to meet client expectations.
- Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Draft calculations and RFI responses under the direction of a project structural engineer.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist with site reviews alongside project structural engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
- A Master degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, and experience with Revit is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry software such as Microsoft products, RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, and Adapt.
- Ability to learn and apply project-specific building codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn and improve.
