About the role#
Bennett & Pless is hiring engineering students for a paid internship in our Raleigh office for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will contribute to structural systems for diverse projects like data centers, retail spaces, and historical renovations.
What you'll do#
- Design structural elements for various project types.
- Coordinate with structural engineers and designers to meet quality standards.
- Create construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Prepare calculations and RFI responses under the guidance of a project structural engineer.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist with site reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
- Pursuit of a Master degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, and Revit experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry software such as Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM), RISA, EnerCalc, and Adapt.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn project-specific codes and apply them to your work.
