About the role#
Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is hiring a Production Management Intern to work on-site in Nipomo, California. This role involves shadowing an experienced production manager to learn about citrus production lines. You will start with a one-week rotating schedule to understand all departments and processes. This position requires at least 20 hours per week and is paid at $17.90 per hour. Internships typically last three months with the possibility of an extension based on a 90-day evaluation. What you'll do#
- Partner with a production manager to maintain fruit quality standards.
- Help manage staff including packers, graders, machine operators, and forklift drivers.
- Enforce food safety and general safety programs.
- Monitor machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Provide daily reports to upper management and the sales team.
- Identify problems and provide guidance to the production team.
- Present new ideas to leadership to help streamline processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university or college.
- Pursuit of a degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understanding of quality standards, health, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment and apply logic during high-stress situations.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly in writing.
