About the role#
Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is hiring a Farm Management Intern to work with our fresh citrus production lines and farming operations in Fowler, California. This role requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and focuses on gaining practical experience in agricultural management. Internships typically last three months, with the possibility of an extension based on a 90-day performance evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Manage fresh citrus production lines and day-to-day farming tasks.
- Monitor plant agronomy, including soil health, water usage, fertilizers, and tree maintenance.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment safely.
- Work with team members to meet production goals.
- Apply logical thinking to solve problems during high-stress situations.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, working near mechanical equipment, and lifting objects over 50 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university or college as an Agriculture Business major or a related field.
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A clean driving record and the ability to follow our Fleet Safety Program and policies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
