About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to support our client base. You will gain hands-on experience with firm practices, assist in the preparation of tax documents, and begin building professional relationships within the accounting field.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions.
- Use tax software to complete simple returns and perform quarterly estimates.
- Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities and firm policies.
- Organize files and use referencing systems to minimize rework.
- Assist with responses to Internal Revenue Service notices and year-end filing projections.
- Help with components of income tax provisions.
- Research tax information using online tools and monitor developments in tax law.
- Communicate relevant findings to the client service team.
- Track impending due dates and engagement letters.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree and those with prior leadership experience.
