About the role#
This summer internship offers students the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real-world finance and accounting projects within the aerospace industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals in Savannah, Georgia, while gaining hands-on experience in corporate financial operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support capital expenditure reviews and fixed asset management.
- Help gather documentation for statutory audit requests.
- Provide administrative support for financial systems like SAP and BlackLine.
- Participate in aircraft contract reviews and revenue recognition analysis.
- Support site accounting activities and warranty accounting tasks.
- Assist with SOX compliance testing and internal control documentation.
- Build and improve Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
- Help the Travel team with data analysis and reporting to improve efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements through automation.
- Handle ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accounting or finance degree program, or a related master's degree.
- Completion of entry-level accounting courses is preferred.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- A self-motivated and results-driven approach.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks.
- Reliable transportation.
