About the role#
BCI is hiring a Venture & Growth Co-op student to join the Private Equity team. You will support a $1 billion strategy within a department that manages $28.3 billion in global private equity assets. This role offers exposure to direct investments in private companies and partnerships with venture capital and growth equity firms. You will receive training and mentorship while working alongside investment professionals in Victoria.
What you'll do#
- Conduct due diligence for new investment opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation of investment memoranda.
- Review, summarize, and analyze quarterly information for existing portfolio investments.
- Drive innovation by testing and building new applications.
- Analyze investment performance on an individual and aggregate basis.
- Conduct sector research.
- Assist with special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Business Administration, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- A strong academic track record.
- A passion for investing and financial markets.
- Demonstrated initiative and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Participation in student investment clubs or investment case competitions is an asset.
- Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research, management consulting, corporate development, or accounting is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Victoria, British Columbia.
- Terms: Summer 2027 (May to August) or Fall 2027 and Winter 2028 (September to April).
- Modality: On-site in Victoria with the option to work from home one day per week.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: $2,745.00 gross bi-weekly plus 6% vacation pay.
- Travel: A fixed-rate travel allowance is provided for students relocating to Victoria.
