    About the role#

    BCI is seeking a Global Communications co-op student or intern for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will join the Global Investment Communications team to support research, content development, and strategic projects. This role helps tell the story of one of Canada's largest institutional investors, which manages a diversified portfolio of $313.7 billion in assets. You will work under the supervision of the Manager to support the team in translating complex investment activity into clear narratives.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop communications materials to support the launch of a new digital platform.
    • Research best practices in digital marketing communications.
    • Support the production of written, digital, and video content for various audiences.
    • Assist with media monitoring and reporting to track BCI coverage.
    • Coordinate conferences and events for BCI asset classes and senior leaders.
    • Partner with Employee Communications and The Creative Production Hub on initiatives.
    • Contribute to ad-hoc research, writing, and project support.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
    • Fundamental knowledge of business and investment disciplines.
    • Experience with digital marketing communications and AI tools.
    • Familiarity with MailChimp, media monitoring platforms, design tools, or digital and video content production.
    • Demonstrated interest in investment communications.
    • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
    • Dedication to hard work and ethical standards, along with a curiosity about artificial intelligence.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based at 750 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, British Columbia.
    • The role is full-time for the Winter 2027 term.
    • Work modality is on-site with the option to work from home one day per week.
    • Compensation includes a bi-weekly salary of $2,155.00 or $2,330.00 for those with or working toward a graduate degree, plus 6% vacation pay.
    • A fixed-rate travel allowance is provided for those relocating to Victoria for the term.
