    About the role#

    BCI is looking for an Employee Communications Co-op or Intern for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will join the Employee Communications team within the Global Communications Department. This role supports internal communications strategies, corporate events, and content creation to help tell the BCI story to employees, clients, and the public.

    What you'll do#

    • Review, write, and edit content for internal and external audiences, including the corporate intranet, LinkedIn, and the website.
    • Partner with subject-matter experts to write copy, manage approvals, and create visuals or videos.
    • Lead an audit of current content and requests to inform a new communications strategy.
    • Research multi-channel communication campaigns and test potential future channels.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of corporate events, such as Town Halls and knowledge series sessions.
    • Provide editing support for documents, images, and videos.
    • Contribute to ongoing initiatives, including news content and scriptwriting.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail.
    • Ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling content.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
    • Experience using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
    • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Interpersonal skills to build relationships and work collaboratively.
    • Ability to manage projects effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid position based at 750 Pandora Avenue in Victoria, British Columbia.
    • The role is on-site with the option to work from home one day per week.
    • Compensation is $2,330 gross bi-weekly for those with or working toward a graduate degree, or $2,155 gross bi-weekly plus 6% vacation pay for others.
    • BCI provides a fixed-rate travel allowance for those relocating to Victoria for the term.
