About the role#
This student worker position supports the Chief Village Officer in operating a private convenience store located on the Creekside Community Village campus. The role involves working alongside formerly homeless individuals and supporting community service partnerships. Applicants must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
What you'll do#
- Operate a point-of-sale system to assist shoppers.
- Maintain the store by stocking shelves, cleaning, and organizing merchandise.
- Assist the Chief Village Officer with daily store operations.
- Support broader community service initiatives and partnerships.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and phone communication.
- A reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A willingness to learn point-of-sale systems if you do not have prior experience.
- Personal traits including intentionality, adaptability, motivation, and a personable nature.
- A mature Christian faith and a willingness to work alongside formerly homeless men and women.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site at Mission Waco Mission World.
- Schedule: 10-20 hours per week with flexible working hours.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Pay Rate: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
