About the role#
The Office Assistant position at Brooks College involves staffing the front desk of the residential college and supporting daily community operations. This role serves as a primary point of contact for residents and faculty, requiring a friendly and professional approach. Hours are flexible and are self-scheduled during a team meeting at the start of each semester.
What you'll do#
- Provide general office assistance and administrative support.
- Greet clients and visitors, answer inquiries, and provide information.
- Manage the front desk, including checking materials in and out for residents.
- Assist faculty members with office-related needs.
- Maintain files, reports, and ensure the confidentiality of information.
- Monitor door alarms and ensure common area spaces remain clean and organized.
- Service the coffee cart and assist with various projects or tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with University policies.
- An excellent attendance record with consistent punctuality.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Open to students from majors such as Business Administration, Communications, or Psychology.

- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week (40 hours per biweekly period).
- Compensation: $8.00 per hour.
