About the role#
This position supports middle school and 9th-grade students by providing reading assistance and homework help. Tutors work with local community partners to enhance academic support and outreach within the Waco area. This is a paid, part-time role reserved for students eligible for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with reading assignments and homework.
- Coordinate with the CIS Volunteer Director regarding the scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of tutoring services.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff.
- Attend required meetings and professional training sessions.
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation for each student.
- Ensure all program objectives are met according to contractual requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at Baylor University with Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Proficiency in speaking Spanish.
- Strong organizational, time management, and computer skills.
- Ability to adapt to diverse work situations.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
