About the role#
This position supports middle school and 9th grade students with reading and homework assistance. You will work with Communities in Schools of the Heart of Texas to help students reach their academic goals. This role is open to Baylor University students who qualify for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Help students with reading assignments and homework.
- Coordinate with the CIS Volunteer Director to schedule and evaluate tutoring sessions.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Keep accurate service logs and documentation for every student.
- Attend required meetings and professional training sessions.
- Follow program objectives and district policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at Baylor University and Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Strong organizational, time management, and computer skills.
- Ability to work in diverse environments.
- Ability to clear a criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
