About the role#
Prof. Samantha Blackmon is hiring an undergraduate teaching assistant to support game studies courses within the Department of English. This position involves monitoring the Critical Play Lab during the week. You will work up to ten hours per week between 9am and 5pm.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the Critical Play Lab space during weekday hours.
- Assist students with ongoing projects.
- Manage organizational tasks including record keeping.
- Support program administration, such as recruiting new students for the Games, Narrative, and eSports certificate.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Purdue undergraduate student in West Lafayette.
- Completion of at least one of these courses: ENGL 22002 Technology and Play, ENGL 28000 Games, Narrative & Culture, ENGL 33000 Games and Diversity, ENGL 33200 Games and User Experience, or ENGL 34500 Games and World Building.
- Basic knowledge of gaming hardware and computer peripherals.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of gaming hardware and peripherals is preferred.

- Location: West Lafayette, Indiana.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $13.00 per hour.
