About the role#
The Office Assistant provides administrative support for the residential community at Kokernot Hall. You serve as a resource for residents, visitors, and staff while helping maintain the safety and security of the building. This position requires a focus on customer service and the ability to follow university policies.
What you'll do#
- Monitor door security and report issues to the appropriate staff members.
- Help residents with room access and equipment check-outs.
- Maintain accurate log books for maintenance requests, equipment, lost and found items, and other administrative records.
- Support residents by helping them communicate concerns to the hall staff.
- Enforce Campus Living & Learning policies and procedures.
- Complete various administrative tasks as assigned by the Residence Hall Director.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in typing and the ability to learn front desk software.
- Capability to handle administrative tasks and work effectively on a team.
- Strong customer service skills to assist a diverse population.
- Good judgment to respond to resident needs or urgent situations.
- Effective time management skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Kokernot Hall, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026 with rolling employment.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 7:00am and 1:00am, including some holiday break coverage.
- Compensation: $8.00 per hour.
- Majors: Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Human Resources, or Sociology.
