About the role#
Baylor University is seeking a Cyber Security Summer Camp Counselor to serve as a primary caregiver and instructor for campers. This role involves planning, teaching, and coordinating activities to help youth develop cybersecurity skills. Counselors act as role models and work as part of a team to ensure a safe and positive camp environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers during activities to meet intended outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of program activities aligned with the camp mission.
- Lead and assist with teaching activities, including those involving information technology for labs and competitions.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety for campers and staff.
- Monitor equipment and facilities for proper use and maintenance.
- Provide daily care for campers and assist with personal or health needs as they arise.
- Model positive behavior and uphold all camp policies and security procedures.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in cybersecurity or designated camp program areas.
- Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner.
- Ability to interact effectively with all age levels.
- Capacity to observe behavior, enforce safety regulations, and apply behavior management techniques.
- Physical ability to maintain constant supervision and lift up to 20 pounds.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas (BRIC - Cyber Range).
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15, 2026, to June 26, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 60 to 80 hours.
- Compensation: $17 per hour.
