Student Worker - Fitness Instructor/Trainer(Summer 2026) - BC

About the role#

This position involves instructing or training FitWell Group X classes, including F45, as part of the campus recreation programs. Students will support the health and wellness of the community by leading fitness sessions and maintaining facility standards.

What you'll do#

• Plan, develop, and lead safe and effective group fitness classes based on recognized guidelines.
• Observe participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and movement for safety.
• Provide guidance on routine fitness and wellness questions.
• Collaborate with team members to implement risk reduction measures and respond to emergency situations.
• Ensure the safety, maintenance, and security of the facility and equipment.
• Provide customer service to clients and visitors.

What you'll need#

• A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
• Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
• Capability to motivate members during class.
• Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Public Health, and Health Administration.
• Teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.

Location & details#

• Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Schedule: Minimum of 6 hours per week, with availability between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday.
• Compensation: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour.
