About the role#
This position involves instructing FitWell Group X classes, including F45, within the campus recreation programs. The role requires a minimum of 6 hours per week between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday. This is a paid student worker position for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Plan, develop, and lead safe and effective group fitness classes.
- Observe participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and movement for safety.
- Maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Provide guidance and resources regarding fitness and wellness questions.
- Collaborate with the team to implement risk reduction measures and respond to emergency situations.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all clients and visitors.
- Encourage the community to maintain active and healthy lifestyles.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to motivate class members.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Must pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Public Health, or Health Administration.
