About the role#
The Baylor Alumni, Parent, and Philanthropic Engagement team is looking for a student worker to provide visitor services support at the McLane Family Alumni Center. You will work closely with the Visitor Services Coordinator to assist with daily operations and administrative tasks. This is a paid position for students interested in alumni engagement.
What you'll do#
- Greet in-person guests and manage phone and email inquiries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Alumni Center.
- Collect and update constituent data while ensuring strict confidentiality.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Baylor University to assist with visitor questions.
- Stay informed about university events, initiatives, and priorities.
- Assist with event planning, coordination, and hospitality services as needed.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- A professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to maintain discretion and handle confidential information.
- An interest in alumni, parent, and philanthropic engagement.
- Proficiency in learning and using software and technology.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences.
- Majors preferred include Communications, Business Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, History, Political Science, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- Location: McLane Family Alumni Center, Hurd Welcome Center, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some after-hours event work may be required.
- Term: Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Winter 2027.
