Student Worker - Alumni Engagement Assistant

About the role#

The Baylor Alumni, Parent, and Philanthropic Engagement team is seeking a student worker to provide visitor services and administrative support at the McLane Family Alumni Center. This role involves acting as a point of contact for guests, managing daily operations, and assisting the team with various projects and event coordination.

What you'll do#

• Greet in-person guests, manage phone calls, and respond to general alumni inquiries.
• Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the McLane Family Alumni Center.
• Collect, update, and maintain the confidentiality of constituent data within CRM systems.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on University initiatives, events, and priorities.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events.
• Perform general business operations and administrative tasks as assigned.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences via phone, email, and in person.
• A professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to maintain strict discretion and confidentiality regarding constituent data.
• Proficiency in learning and utilizing new software and technology.
• Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently.
• An interest in alumni, parent, and philanthropic engagement.
• Majors preferred include Communications, Business Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, History, Political Science, or Human Resources.

Location & details#

• Location: McLane Family Alumni Center, Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some after-hours event work may be required.
• Term: Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Winter 2027.
• Compensation: $10 per hour.
• Modality: On-site.
