About the role#
The Fair Trade Market Assistant supports daily operations at the Mission Waco Fair Trade Market. This position involves direct customer interaction, maintaining the appearance of the retail space, and assisting with administrative tasks. This role is open to students in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Art, or Graphic Design.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and provide assistance throughout the market.
- Process transactions by bagging items and writing up tickets.
- Maintain the sales floor through light dusting and arranging product displays.
- Price incoming inventory and assist with market decorations.
- Handle general computer and phone tasks as needed.
- Assist with errands and additional cleaning duties.
What you'll need#
- Experience in customer service and point of sale systems.
- Proficiency with computer tasks and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to the off-campus work site.
- Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, Tuesday through Sunday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Pay Rate: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
