About the role#
The IT Help Desk Consultant provides support to the Baylor Law School community by maintaining equipment and assisting students, faculty, and staff with their technology needs. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to customer service.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot common IT problems and respond to inquiries from the Law School community.
- Monitor and maintain printers, including checking ink and paper levels and resolving paper jams.
- Assist in setting up and taking down portable audio/video systems for classes and events.
- Greet clients and visitors, answer inquiries, and provide general office assistance.
- Maintain files, reports, and ensure the confidentiality of information.
- Update the IT Help Desk log with resolved issues and completed shift tasks.
- Ensure lab cleanliness and manage supplies such as paper and toner.
- Assist with various projects and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University as an undergraduate or law student.
- Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with common IT equipment and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
Location & details#
- Location: Sheila & Walter Umphrey Law Center, Law Library Help Desk, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts available between 7am and 10pm (Sundays 11am-10pm).
- Note: Parking is not permitted in the Law School lot during operational hours without a waiver.
