About the role#
The IT Help Desk Consultant provides technical and administrative support to the Baylor Law School community. This role focuses on maintaining IT equipment, assisting faculty and students with inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Law School's technology resources.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot common IT issues and respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff.
- Monitor and maintain printers, including checking ink and paper levels and clearing jams.
- Set up and dismantle portable audio and video systems for classes and events.
- Manage lab cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory such as toner and paper.
- Provide general office assistance, maintain files and reports, and update the IT Help Desk log.
- Handle special projects as assigned by the IT Director or departmental staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University as an undergraduate or law student.
- Strong technical aptitude with familiarity in common IT equipment and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with university policies.
Location & details#
- Location: Sheila & Walter Umphrey Law Center, Law Library Help Desk, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts available between 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM on Sundays.
- Note: Parking is not permitted in the Law School lot during operational hours.
