About the role#
The Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty is seeking a student worker to support marketing and communications efforts. This role involves contributing to initiatives addressing hunger and poverty through graphic design, content creation, and digital communications. You will report to the Marketing and Communications Manager and work with staff across various program areas to communicate the department mission.
What you'll do#
- Design graphics for social media, email marketing, presentations, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.
- Assist with creating, scheduling, and maintaining content for social media platforms.
- Draft and edit website content, newsletters, and blog posts.
- Support photography and videography efforts for events, trainings, and organizational initiatives, including editing media for digital and print use.
- Help prepare materials for conferences, workshops, and outreach events.
- Conduct research on marketing trends, communications best practices, and audience engagement.
- Assist with organizing marketing assets and maintaining brand consistency.
- Participate in a pilot student development program by providing feedback to help refine an experiential learning model focused on hunger relief and community impact.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a closely related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Photography, videography, and video editing experience are a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas (On-site at the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty offices).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, primarily between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
