About the role#
The Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty is seeking a student worker to support marketing and communications efforts. This role involves contributing to initiatives addressing hunger and poverty through digital, print, and multimedia communications. You will work directly with the Marketing and Communications Manager and collaborate with staff across program areas to increase awareness of the Collaborative's mission.
What you'll do#
- Design graphics for social media, email marketing, presentations, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.
- Create and schedule content for social media platforms.
- Draft and edit website content, newsletters, blog posts, and other written communications.
- Support photography and videography efforts for events, trainings, and organizational initiatives.
- Edit photos and videos for digital and print use.
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications materials.
- Prepare materials for conferences, workshops, meetings, and outreach events.
- Research marketing trends, communications best practices, and audience engagement.
- Organize marketing assets, templates, and digital files.
- Participate in a pilot student development program by providing feedback on experiential learning models and program improvements.
- Collaborate with staff to develop creative solutions for program initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current Baylor University student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a closely related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred.
- Photography, videography, and video editing experience are considered a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty Offices, 801 Washington Avenue, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, primarily between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: Paid position ($14-$17 per hour).
