    About the role#

    Community Impact offers a 10-12 week internship for those starting their careers in local journalism. You will work alongside editors and reporters to inform readers about updates in their local communities. This is a full-time, paid position.

    What you'll do#

    • Write stories for our website and print publications.
    • Contribute to the Impact and To-do List sections of the paper.
    • Shadow reporters at local government meetings.
    • Connect with community sources and take photos.
    • Work Monday through Friday, with occasional evening shifts to cover council meetings.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program for journalism or communications, or graduation within the last six months.
    • Experience writing in AP Style.
    • Previous work with a collegiate student publication or media outlet.
    • Reliable transportation to get out into the communities we serve.

    Location & details#

    • The role is based in Frisco, Texas.
    • This is an on-site position.
    • The internship is paid at an hourly rate of $15.
