About the role#
The Communication & Media Studies Department is hiring a Student Assistant to support daily operations. You will help maintain media labs, assist with podcast production, and manage social media content. This role also involves general office tasks and support for faculty projects.
What you'll do#
- Help students use podcast recording equipment and production tools.
- Keep department media labs organized and ensure all equipment works properly.
- Create and schedule content for department social media accounts.
- Handle clerical tasks like filing, data entry, and copying.
- Assist faculty and staff with events and special assignments.
What you'll need#
- Eligibility for the Federal Work-Study Program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with or a willingness to learn Adobe Audition and podcast recording technology.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

- This position is located on-site in New York, New York.
- The role is paid and part-time.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Media Studies, and Journalism.
