About the role#
We are looking for a graduate student to serve as a Teaching Assistant for an ESL class. You will work directly with international graduate students to help them improve their English speaking skills. This position requires 8 to 10 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Help students improve their pronunciation, intonation, and phrasing.
- Assist with the clear communication of ideas.
- Schedule and conduct weekly coaching sessions.
- Maintain a log of all student sessions.
- Mark completed sessions in Canvas.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Baylor graduate student to apply.
- You are an American native-English-speaker.
- You have teaching skills and patience.
- You have experience learning a foreign language.
- Experience living abroad is helpful.
Location & details#
- Work takes place on-site at the Sid Richardson Building in Waco, Texas.
- This role is paid at a rate of $20.00 per hour.
- The position is available for the Fall 2026 and Fall 2027 terms.
