Associate Director of Student-Athlete Development and NIL Education

About the role#

This position within the Student-Athlete Formation unit at Baylor University focuses on the holistic development of student-athletes. The role emphasizes career readiness, personal growth, NIL education, and transition strategies for life beyond collegiate athletics. You will work closely with student-athletes, coaches, Athletics staff, faculty, and campus partners to implement programs that support student success.

What you'll do#

• Develop and lead educational resources, programming, and events focused on brand development and NIL for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with university, NCAA, and state NIL regulations while staying current on industry trends.
• Partner with Athletics units to provide guidance on personal branding, marketplace positioning, and social media strategy.
• Collaborate with licensing staff to increase group opportunities for student-athletes and sport programs.
• Lead career development initiatives designed to prepare student-athletes for success during and after their collegiate experience.
• Serve as a primary resource for assigned sport programs, fostering engagement in development initiatives.
• Establish and maintain relationships with coaches, Athletics staff, campus partners, and community organizations.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
• At least two years of relevant experience (3-5 years preferred).
• Specific experience in providing NIL education or deep knowledge of NIL in intercollegiate athletics.
• Professional background in intercollegiate athletics, student development, or a related higher education setting.
• Ability to embrace and champion the Christian mission of Baylor University.
• Experience planning and facilitating workshops and events.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to solve complex problems using a systematic approach.
