    About the role#

    We are hiring a Canola Breeding Summer Associate to join our Agricultural Solutions team. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027. You will work on-site at our locations in Regina and Emerald Park, Saskatchewan. Please note that students are hired through a third-party contracting agency.

    What you'll do#

    • Support field trials for local and global breeding programs to help develop high-performing hybrids.
    • Manage variety development and registration tasks, including seed set up, land preparation, seeding, pest control, pollination management, plot maintenance, and harvesting.
    • Supervise casual employees when necessary.
    • Monitor crop health daily in field and research plots.
    • Collect research data.
    • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Agriculture degree or diploma program, or graduation from one within the last two years.
    • Strong interest in canola development.
    • Ability to solve problems and adapt your plans as field conditions change.
    • Focus on achieving both individual and team goals.
    • Previous experience in the agriculture industry or with farm machinery is considered an asset.

    • Locations: Regina and Emerald Park, Saskatchewan.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 6 months).
    • Compensation: $25 to $32 per hour, with overtime pay for evening or weekend work during peak periods.
