    About the role#

    This summer internship offers hands-on experience in agronomic research and hybrid development. You will work alongside the Agronomic Excellence team to evaluate canola hybrids, seed technology, and crop practices. This role is designed to help you build a foundation for a career in agriculture while contributing to research that supports Western Canadian farmers.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct field trials and assist with all phases of the crop cycle, including planting, plot maintenance, and harvest.
    • Monitor field and research plots to collect data and analyze crop performance.
    • Supervise casual employees as needed.
    • Travel regularly within your assigned territory for field scouting and diagnostics.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an agriculture or related degree program, with plans to return to your studies after the internship.
    • A valid driver’s license and openness to regular travel.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • A focus on detail and the ability to adapt to changing field conditions.
    • Familiarity with agricultural equipment and field research practices is preferred.

    • Locations: Strathmore, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (4 months).
    • Compensation: $25 - $32 per hour.
    • Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
