About the role#
We are looking for an Agronomic Excellence Summer Associate to join the Agricultural Solutions team in Saskatoon. You will work with the local Agronomic Excellence group to evaluate canola hybrids, seed technology, and various agronomic practices. This role focuses on developing regional, hybrid-specific practices through hands-on field research.
What you'll do#
- Manage field trial activities from seeding through to harvest.
- Handle seed set up, land preparation, planting, pest control, and plot maintenance.
- Perform daily monitoring of field and research plots, including data collection and analysis.
- Travel regularly within the region to conduct field scouting and diagnose crop health.
- Supervise casual employees as needed during the season.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Previous experience in the agriculture industry and field research.
- Practical experience with agriculture equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of problem-solving.
- Ability to adapt plans quickly to minimize impact on research results.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to work toward both individual and team goals.
