About the role#
We are looking for an Agronomic Excellence Summer Associate to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Strathmore, Alberta. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027. Please note that students are hired and employed through a third-party contracting agency, Raise Recruiting.
What you'll do#
- Conduct field trials with the local Agronomic Excellence programs group.
- Evaluate canola hybrids, seed technology, and agronomic practices.
- Manage field trial activities ranging from commercial scale to small plot trials, including seed set up, land preparation, seeding, pest control, plot maintenance, and harvesting.
- Supervise casual employees as needed.
- Travel regularly within your local region for field scouting.
- Monitor research plots daily to assist with crop health diagnosis, data collection, and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Strong agronomic competence gained through a degree in Agriculture or a related college program.
- Experience in the agriculture industry.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to deliver results while working toward individual and team goals.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to modify plans as situations arise.
- Previous experience in agriculture field research is preferred.
