About the role#
Baird Advisors is the institutional fixed income asset management team at Baird. The team manages over $195 billion for institutional clients, pensions, foundations, and individuals. As an intern, you will work with experienced investment professionals and gain exposure to the firm's investment process through a mix of daily responsibilities and project work.
What you'll do#
- Support the team's reporting needs using various systems, including Microsoft Excel.
- Spend time with portfolio managers to learn how the investment process works.
- Use Bloomberg data to research a specific topic assigned by the investment team.
- Present your findings to the team and answer their questions.
- Monitor reports to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Identify and communicate ways to improve current processes.
- Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, mathematics, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or economics.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an interest in growing your data analysis skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and organizational abilities.
- You can work with minimal supervision while remaining willing to take direction.
- A high level of professionalism and a genuine curiosity to learn.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site at our downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin office.
- You will work 37.5 to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, starting in June 2027.
