About the role#
ATC is looking for a Vegetation Management - Environmental Field Intern for the summer of 2027. You will support environmental work within our transmission corridors. This role focuses on field surveys for pollinator species and contributes to permitting and compliance efforts. It is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainable infrastructure development.
What you'll do#
- Spend 80 to 90 percent of your time conducting field surveys to identify and monitor endangered and threatened butterfly and other pollinator species in transmission line corridors.
- Support environmental review and permitting processes by providing biological data and field observations.
- Perform data entry and reporting for ecological fieldwork, including GIS mapping and online documentation.
- Collaborate with utility industry professionals and environmental consultants.
- Contribute to sustainable vegetation management practices.
What you'll need#
- You are a student working toward a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation, or Natural Resources.
- You are curious and detail-oriented.
- You have a strong interest in conservation and sustainability.
- You are comfortable working outdoors and collecting data.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
- The position is on-site.
- The pay range is 23 to 27 dollars per hour.
