About the role#
This summer internship provides an opportunity to gain professional experience within the environmental compliance department at Hawaiian Electric. You will work with a dedicated mentor to research and execute an objective-based project. Throughout the summer, you will participate in cross-functional activities and learn about the company operations. The program concludes with an open forum presentation where you will share your project deliverables and lessons learned with the management team.
What you'll do#
- Manage environmental compliance records and coordinate regulatory documentation.
- Ensure the timely submission of reports and agency correspondence.
- Research and execute a project based on specific objectives.
- Participate in cross-functional activities and professional development sessions.
- Present your project findings and deliverables in a final open forum.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active student at a post-secondary school, such as a college or community college.
- You must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You must be enrolled in school for the Fall 2027 term.
- Your expected graduation date must be December 2027 or later.
- You are required to provide an official digital copy of your transcript.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
- The term takes place during Summer 2027.
- Work is performed on-site, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
