About the role#
As an Asset Maintenance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the maintenance and reliability of our electric transmission system. You will work alongside experienced professionals to help ensure safe and reliable electric service across the region. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support transmission asset inspection and maintenance activities.
- Participate in field visits to observe transmission line equipment and infrastructure.
- Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing asset condition data.
- Support maintenance planning, reporting, and documentation.
- Use GIS, maintenance databases, and other utility technology tools.
- Participate in safety meetings and field observations.
- Collaborate with teams across Asset Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Vegetation Management.
- Gain exposure to substation maintenance activities and utility operations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in utility infrastructure, maintenance, or field operations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Location: Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $23 to $27 per hour.
