About the role#
As a Human Resources Student in Long Beach, you will support talent initiatives and help build high-performing teams across the district. You will work directly with employees, managers, and HR professionals to manage daily administrative tasks and HR processes.
What you'll do#
- Provide research and general administrative support to the team.
- Coordinate onboarding, event planning, and training preparation.
- Maintain accurate databases and prepare scheduled or ad hoc reports.
- Assist employees with questions regarding HR processes and systems.
- Support the HRPD team using our HRIS system and company communications.
- Build and maintain strong customer-focused relationships.
- Model the company culture regarding solution provision and profitability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in human resources, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic networking skills to develop and maintain HR connections.
- Knowledge of change management methodologies is an asset.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Authorization to work in the US.
- Ability to pass a substance abuse test.

- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Note: While the role is based in Long Beach, candidates must be available to work full-time from May to August.
