Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. is seeking a Legal Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in the Executive Division in Springfield, Missouri, this internship offers the opportunity to work alongside four in-house attorneys on a variety of legal matters within the energy sector.
What you'll do#
- Assist with regulatory and compliance issues.
- Engage in corporate governance and labor relations.
- Participate in document management, review, and processing.
- Support the team during contract negotiations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Juris Doctorate program at an accredited institution.
- A class ranking in the top half of your class (top one-third preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand complex legal documents.
- Prior experience or coursework involving law journals, moot court, or trial teams is preferred.
- Proficiency in organizational, time-management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
