About the role#
The Environmental Compliance Intern supports Dominion Energy Virginia operations by promoting regulatory compliance across electric generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy facilities. You will gain hands-on experience with compliance programs including air and water quality, stormwater management, waste management, and spill prevention. This role involves working alongside environmental professionals to ensure the company meets its environmental commitments.
What you'll do#
- Support environmental compliance and operational excellence programs across facilities and projects.
- Assist with audits, self-assessments, inspections, and tracking corrective actions.
- Review environmental permits, compliance plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Collect, organize, and analyze environmental data.
- Develop environmental procedures, guidance documents, training materials, and communication tools.
- Assist with environmental reporting and documentation management.
- Participate in field visits and site assessments to observe compliance activities.
- Collaborate with environmental, operations, engineering, safety, and project teams.
- Research emerging environmental regulations and industry best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year college or university.
- Major in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date in Spring 2028 or later.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
